ECSO’s NIS2 Implementation Initiative was launched in June 2023 as part of the organisation’s mission to empower and inform its Members on cybersecurity policy. After launching three successful virtual discussions in 2023, ECSO’s team is now working on a White Paper to address the main priorities and challenges of the NIS2 implementation.

The White Paper, written in collaboration with ECSO’s Members and ECSO’s CISO Community, will be structured around four main pillars:

  • NIS2 Implementation “Starter Pack”: a short and informative segment on the key obligations put forward by the Directive for the entities in scope.
  • Case Studies of Implementing Organisations: an account of the steps that an organisation can take to accomplish a specific task related to the Directive, including sectorial perspectives such as the interplay of the implementation with existing obligations in other sectors.
  • Overview of Transposition in EU Member States: a NIS2 Implementation Tracker, taking into consideration the current uncertainty of the transposition process in several EU Member States.
  • Targeted Feedback: a survey sent to implementing organisations to collect their main challenges related to the Directive.

Through the actions put in place within the NIS2 Implementation Initiative, ECSO fulfils its larger mission of improving Europe’s cybersecurity sector maturity. The Initiative will help its Members in comprehending and navigating the ever-evolving cybersecurity legislative landscape and making sure that Europe at large remains cyber-resilient.
